MSFT has been playing with my heart! Wall Street had a tepid response to its earnings report so it’s been bouncing back and forth just a few dollars for the last few days. I started to see some gains just yesterday because the contract added about $500. I will start taking a look at the market today and then probably add a trailing stop on it to lock in some gains. I do have a few months to think about but the theta starts to come into play the closer we get to the expiration date. I need to find the right balance!

MSFT has just been bouncing around with a plus or minus a few hundred dollars which is not the volatility I wanted after a good earnings call! I’m holding on to the option but I’m starting to formulate where my bottom is to get out. Some place between -$500 to -$1000 is when I’m going to start considering selling my option. We shall await!

MSFT had mixed results after the earnings call. I was happy with the results but Wall Street had more mixed feelings than me. We await a new trading day. META having their earning call AMC today so will that raise all boats for today and tomorrow? We shall see…

MSFT’s earning report is out! It beat many expectations but the after-market trading is a bit skeptical. I did buy an option several months out so I have time but we shall see what tomorrow brings with reactions.

I’m starting to research the option chains of MSFT. I usually start with 5 – 7 strike price steps below the current trading price and 3-4 months out. I can use the Nasdaq website to see a few things. In the option chain page, I can see the 17 May call options information. I can click on the strike price and see exact details for those calls, but I’m looking at general info on the option chain page. In general, categories like open interest and volume will drive volatility and a higher delta for that specific option. Right now the $380 and the $400 strike prices pique my interest.
